Wedding bouquet preservation pieces on a table: shadow boxes, resin bookends, a resin block and arch, pressed flower frames and a gold-handled resin tray

Wedding Bouquet Preservation

Wedding bouquet preservation is the process of drying the real flowers from your bouquet and turning them into a keepsake that lasts for decades. The flowers are pressed flat and framed behind glass, kept in their 3D shape inside a shadow box, or sealed in clear epoxy resin by our artist.

Everything in this collection is made from your own bouquet. Pressed flower frames and 3D shadow boxes go on the wall. Resin blocks, arches and bookends sit on a shelf or a desk. Trays, coasters and ring dishes get used every day, and resin necklaces and earrings let you wear a few petals.

Prices run from $20 for an add-on to $3,000 for a resin coffee table.

We’ve preserved 5,000+ bouquets over 6+ years (rated ★★★★★ by 600+ couples), with fast prepaid nationwide shipping.

Which preservation method is best for a wedding bouquet?

The best preservation method is the one that suits the flowers in your bouquet. If you want the keepsake to look as close to the wedding day as possible, pick a 3D shadow box or a resin block. Both keep each bloom's natural shape.

Pressing flattens the flowers, so a pressed frame looks more like a botanical print. Calla lilies, dahlias, carnations, protea and large tropical blooms hold up best in 3D. We can sometimes freeze-dry flowers when a full bloom needs to keep its round shape in a 3D piece.

Can a wedding bouquet be preserved in resin?

Yes, a wedding bouquet can be preserved in resin. We dry the flowers first, then set them in clear epoxy resin that hardens into a solid piece you can see from every side.

Your bouquet can become an arch, a pair of bookends, a hexagon, a round or square block, a cross, or a 6-inch initial letter. Every piece is poured by hand, so a few tiny air bubbles can show up.

Resin blocks are made to stand on a flat surface, not to hang. Here's how our resin flower preservation works.

Can a wedding bouquet be pressed into a frame?

Yes, a wedding bouquet can be pressed and set into a frame as wall art. The flowers dry flat, then we arrange them behind glass.

Frames come in three sizes: 7 × 5, 14 × 11 and 20 × 16 inches. The medium and large frames hang horizontally or vertically and offer up to six layouts, like Full Center Bloom, Floating Garden and Diagonal Cascade.

Choose the Invite/Photo Frame layout if you want your invitation or a photo set in with the flowers. More on pressed flower preservation.

Can my whole wedding bouquet be preserved?

Most of it, yes, if the flowers arrive fresh. It just rarely fits in one piece. For each keepsake you order, we choose the freshest flowers and greenery that suit that design. Flowers left out aren't sent back.

To keep more of the bouquet, spread it across a main piece and a few small ones. Or go bigger: a resin coffee table holds far more flowers than any frame.

A boutonniere or some bridesmaid blooms can join the order too. Just tell us before you ship.

How does wedding bouquet preservation work?

Wedding bouquet preservation works in five steps:

  1. Reserve. Book your date with a $100 deposit, which goes toward your total. Shipping or drop-off instructions arrive within 1–24 hours.
  2. Send. Ship or drop off the bouquet right after the wedding. We'll let you know when it arrives.
  3. Dry. The flowers dry slowly over several months. This stage can't be hurried without hurting the petals.
  4. Confirm. Once they're dry, we confirm your design and send a link for the balance. You have two weeks to pay it.
  5. Ship home. We finish the piece by hand and ship it with tracking. There's no studio pick-up for finished pieces.

How soon should you send your bouquet after the wedding?

Send your bouquet the next business day after the wedding. If you marry on a Saturday, the flowers ship on Monday with 1–2 day delivery.

Until then, keep the stems in cool water and the bouquet out of the sun. UPS and FedEx are usually the most reliable carriers for flowers.

A little wilting on arrival is normal, and we rehydrate blooms where we can.

Where can I get my wedding bouquet preserved?

You can get your wedding bouquet preserved at Florals Memories, wherever your wedding takes place. Here's why couples choose us:

Packing instructions come right after you book, and our guide to shipping wedding flowers walks through each step.

How much does wedding bouquet preservation cost?

Wedding bouquet preservation costs $20 to $3,000 per piece at our studio, with a $250 order minimum. Here's the range for each keepsake:

  • Add-ons (coasters, ring dishes, ornaments): $20–$95
  • Jewelry: $99
  • Pressed flower frames: $135–$495
  • 3D resin blocks: $149–$800
  • Resin trays: $249–$599
  • 3D shadow boxes: $395–$495
  • Resin coffee tables: $1,500–$3,000

Do preserved wedding flowers change color?

Yes, most flowers change color as they dry. Red roses turn a deep burgundy. White flowers warm up to ivory or a pale yellow. Dusty pink roses go muted, sometimes a little gray, and burgundy ranunculus darkens a lot. That shift is natural.

If you want tones closer to the wedding day, add flower color correction. It brightens the color and adds UV protection against fading.

How long does a preserved wedding bouquet last?

A preserved wedding bouquet lasts for decades with simple care. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from humidity and big temperature swings.

Every flower fades a little over the years, resin included. Dust the piece with a soft cloth and skip harsh cleaners.

Is wedding bouquet preservation worth it?

Yes, if you want to keep the actual flowers and not just photos of them. You probably spent real money on a bouquet you held for a few hours. Preservation turns it into something you'll see at home every day for years.

It's harder to justify on a tight budget, or if the flowers never meant much to you. If cost is the worry, one resin tray at $249 puts you right at the order minimum.

How long does wedding bouquet preservation take?

Wedding bouquet preservation takes 30–35 weeks from the day your flowers reach our studio. Most of that time is drying, and we let it go slowly so the petals hold up.

Need it sooner? Expedited service costs $120 extra and finishes within 8 weeks.

Either way, book 2–3 months before the wedding if you can. Peak-season dates fill up fast.
