What Is Resin Flower Preservation?

Resin flower preservation is the process of drying flowers and sealing them inside resin to create decorative and functional keepsakes.

Unlike traditional floral drying alone, resin preservation turns flowers into finished display pieces. Your flowers can be arranged in clear resin in a way that protects them while creating a polished, artistic result.

This method works especially well for clients who want something modern, durable, and easy to display in their home.

Popular Resin Flower Keepsakes

Flowers preserved in resin can be turned into many different keepsakes depending on your style and the size of your bouquet.

Some of the most popular resin flower preservation options include:

  • resin blocks
  • trays
  • ornaments
  • jewelry dishes
  • bookends
  • coasters
  • decorative display pieces

Many clients choose several matching resin keepsakes so they can preserve more of the bouquet and create a coordinated collection.

How Resin Flower Preservation Works

The resin preservation process starts with preparing and drying the flowers properly before they are placed into resin. Because flowers must be dried first and resin needs time to cure correctly, the full process takes time to achieve the best result.

What Flowers Work Best in Resin?

Many flowers can be preserved in resin, but some perform better than others depending on petal thickness, moisture content, and structure.

  • roses
  • ranunculus
  • carnations
  • orchids
  • mums
  • smaller filler flowers and greenery

Important note

Some flowers are more delicate and may show more natural change during the drying process. Because of that, flower preservation in resin always includes some level of natural variation.

Will Resin Turn Yellow Over Time?

This is one of the most common questions about resin flower preservation. The honest answer is that all resin can naturally change over time, and yellowing is one of the known characteristics of resin.

To minimize this as much as possible, we use high-quality UV-resistant resin designed to stay clear and transparent for a very long time. This type of resin is much more resistant to sunlight and UV exposure than lower-quality alternatives.

However, no resin is completely immune to aging. We still recommend keeping resin pieces away from direct sunlight and prolonged UV exposure, because this can affect how quickly resin may begin to warm in tone or yellow over time.

With proper care, resin flower keepsakes can remain beautiful, clear, and well-preserved for many years.

What to Expect From Resin Preservation

Resin flower preservation creates beautiful keepsakes, but it is important to have realistic expectations.

Flowers are natural and they continue to change during drying. Some colors may soften, lighten, darken, or shift slightly. White flowers may become more ivory or cream. Very delicate flowers may become thinner or more fragile-looking after preservation.

These natural changes are part of the process. Professional drying, design work, and optional color correction help create the most beautiful final result possible.
