Learning the temperament of flowers
Over the past six years, my studio has had the honor of preserving nearly 6,000 bouquets. If handling thousands of arrangements has taught me anything, it’s that flowers have distinct personalities:
- A garden rose requires patience and gradual moisture extraction so its petals retain their depth.
- A calla lily has a fleshy, stubborn stem that refuses to dry like anything else.
- A delicate peony hides moisture deep inside its core that can ruin a piece months later if you don’t know how to treat it.

Floral preservation is often treated like a simple craft, but in reality it’s equal parts botanical science, chemistry, and fine art. There are no shortcuts.
Because of that, I made a promise early on: we would never be a factory that forces every bouquet into the exact same mold. That’s why we offer 2D pressed frames, 3D resin blocks, and resin-free shadow boxes. If you send me your bridal bouquet and I see that your selected design won’t do justice to the condition of your flowers, I’ll tell you honestly. My commitment isn’t to sell a specific product — it’s to make sure your heirloom looks breathtaking twenty years from now.
Why an artist cares about artificial intelligence
People are often surprised when they hear a floral preservation artist talk passionately about technology, proprietary software, and artificial intelligence. But to me, the connection is deeply natural. I don’t look at AI as a way to replace artistry — I use technology to protect it.
