What Flower Preservation Is

Learn what flower preservation is, what formats we offer, and how to choose the best option for your bouquet.

What exactly is flower preservation?

It’s a specialized process that preserves the beauty and shape of your wedding or any special-event bouquet, turning fresh flowers into a keepsake you can cherish for life.

We carefully dry and stabilize your fresh flowers, then encase them in premium epoxy resin or mount them in a pressed-floral frame so you can enjoy them for decades. You can find more information in our Flower Preservation Guide.

What types of flower preservation do you offer?

We offer a wide range of flower preservation options, allowing you to transform your bouquet into meaningful, lasting keepsakes.

Our services include:

  • resin flower preservation (blocks, trays, coasters, ornaments, and jewelry such as necklaces and earrings)
  • framed flower preservation (pressed flower frames and 3D shadow boxes)

We work with a variety of shapes and sizes depending on your flowers, and each piece is carefully designed in our signature style to highlight the most beautiful elements of your bouquet.

Unlike many studios that focus on just one method, we offer both resin and framed preservation, giving you more ways to preserve your flowers in a cohesive and timeless way.

What formats can you preserve my bouquet in?

We offer four presentation styles:

  1. 3D Resin Block — your bouquet is fully encased in crystal-clear resin as a square, hexagon, round, or rectangular block.
  2. Resin-Pressed Piece — petals are pressed flat, then sealed with a thin resin layer to create coasters, trays, ring holders, and more.
  3. Frame-Pressed Artwork — dried, flattened blooms are arranged under glass in a classic frame (up to 20″ × 16″).
  4. Shadow-Box 3D Frame — flowers keep their natural depth inside a deep display case protected by glass.

Choose the style that best matches your space and the look you want to achieve.

Which flowers preserve best?

There isn’t a single clear answer. Some flowers are easier to preserve than others depending on their structure, thickness, and moisture content. Certain blooms work beautifully in resin or three-dimensional preservation, while others look better when pressed.

Why Choose Us

Why experience, testing, and proven methods matter in flower preservation.

Why should I choose you for flower preservation?

Flower preservation is a highly technical and delicate process that requires both experience and constant refinement.

Over the years, we have tested a wide range of drying techniques, materials, resins, and framing methods to understand what truly works — and what doesn’t. Based on these tests, we have carefully selected the methods and materials that deliver the most reliable and beautiful results.

We continue to test new products and techniques as they become available, always refining our process to maintain the highest quality. Importantly, all testing is done separately — never on client flowers — so every order is handled with proven, trusted methods.

Today, many new studios are entering the market, often without fully understanding the complexity of preservation. This can lead to unpredictable results and, in some cases, irreversible damage to meaningful flowers.

For that reason, we always recommend choosing a studio with real experience, a deep understanding of the process, and a commitment to ongoing improvement.

We take pride in being one of the studios that continuously evolves, tests, and refines our work, ensuring that your flowers are preserved with the highest level of care and expertise.

During the Preservation Process

What to expect once your flowers arrive and how we handle condition, design, and unused blooms.

What happens if my flowers look wilted on arrival?

Minor wilting is normal. We rehydrate wherever possible. If blooms are unusable, we’ll contact you to discuss options (replacement flowers, design tweaks, or cancellation).

Can the entire bouquet be preserved exactly as it is?

In many cases, the entire bouquet cannot be preserved exactly as it originally looked. During the flower preservation process, we carefully select the best flowers and greenery from the bouquet based on the items ordered. Only the blooms that work best for the final design are used.

However, if the flowers arrive fresh and in good condition, we can often preserve a larger portion of the bouquet by creating multiple keepsakes or a larger piece such as a resin block or custom coffee table design.

What happens to flowers that are not used in the design?

Not all flowers from the bouquet are used in the final piece. We carefully select the best flowers and greenery that work for the specific design ordered.

Any flowers that are not suitable for the final design are typically not returned, as the focus is on creating the most beautiful composition for the keepsake.

Can you preserve flowers that have already dried?

Yes, we can work with flowers that have already been dried. However, if flowers were dried using a traditional air-drying method, the final result may not be the same as professionally preserved flowers.

For already dried flowers, the available preservation options are typically 3D resin pieces or shadow box displays, since dried flowers cannot be pressed or reshaped. In most cases we recommend color correction to restore the appearance of the blooms.

Why does flower preservation take several months?

Flower preservation is a delicate process that requires time. Flowers must first be carefully dried and stabilized before they can be arranged and preserved in their final design.

This process cannot be rushed without risking damage to the flowers. The drying, preparation, and design stages together ensure that your bouquet can be preserved as a long-lasting keepsake.

Timeline

Understand our standard turnaround and expedited options.

How long does the process take?

Standard processing takes 30–35 weeks from the date we receive your bouquet. Need it sooner? We offer an expedited option for an additional $120, and your order will be completed within 8 weeks.

Can the preservation process be expedited?

Yes. We offer an Expedited Flower Preservation option for clients who would like to receive their finished keepsake sooner.

With expedited service, the drying and production timeline is accelerated and your order receives priority throughout the process.

Color & Appearance

What color changes are normal and how color correction can help.

What is flower color correction?

Flower color correction boosts vibrancy, evens out natural discoloration, and adds fade-resistant UV protection—so your preserved piece keeps that “just picked” look for years. You can find more information about color correction in our detailed article here: Color Correction.

Will my preserved flowers stay the same color forever?

All flowers fade slightly over the years. Choosing color correction and keeping your piece out of direct sun and high humidity will help minimize changes.

Will the color of my flowers change during preservation?

Yes. During the drying process, natural flowers often change color. For example, red roses may turn into deep burgundy tones, white flowers may develop a light ivory or yellow shade, and some pink flowers may become more muted.

These changes are a natural part of flower preservation. To improve the appearance of preserved flowers, we also offer a color correction service that helps restore and enhance the natural tones of the blooms.

Products / Final Keepsakes

Questions about multiple pieces, longevity, and caring for your finished keepsake.

Can I create multiple keepsakes from one bouquet?

Yes. Many clients choose to create several keepsakes from the same bouquet. Depending on the number and condition of the flowers, a bouquet can often be used to create multiple items such as resin blocks, trays, frames, or shadow box displays.

We carefully select the best flowers for each design to ensure the final pieces look balanced and beautiful.

How long do preserved flowers last?

When properly preserved and displayed, preserved flowers can last for many years. We use archival materials and professional techniques designed to help maintain the beauty of the flowers over time.

To protect the preserved piece, we recommend keeping it away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity, and extreme temperature changes.

How do I care for my resin or frame piece?

Dust with a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or prolonged direct sunlight. Resin blocks should sit on a flat surface—do not hang them.
